If you have found your way to this page you may be feeling uncared for in your relationships, helpless, confused and alone. Perhaps an important relationship is on the rocks or has recently ended. You may have felt this way before, and wonder why this keeps happening in your life. Or you have been told that you are too emotional or too sensitive, and wonder why people don’t seem to understand your feelings.

I imagine that you are creative, smart and hardworking, and yet feel like people just don’t get you. You are so full of life and yet feel equally isolated and misunderstood. I believe that it is so important to be “got,” to be understood. If you feel bad there may be reasons other than that there is something wrong with you. Some people are afraid to start therapy because they are afraid of being told once again that there is something wrong with them.

I am a warm, compassionate therapist who has been through my own healing journey. I honor the process of healing and the person courageous enough to risk sharing their feelings with me. In addition to seeing individuals, I also work with couples and families. Couples and families, too, may need help to get out of destructive patterns and learn to reach and truly understand each other.

I am a licensed psychotherapist (MFC Lic. #41809) with a successful practice, who has lectured and written on parenting, healing from betrayal, codependency and the emotional needs of gifted adults. I love to work with teens and adults in all fields who value creativity, love, integrity and a passion for life. I also work with other therapists who seek therapy for themselves.

Please contact me and I'd be happy to provide a free phone consultation.

All the best,

Melanie
